DirectHire uses only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party marketing cookies.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences over time, so you don't have to keep re-entering information every time you visit or navigate between pages.
Cookies can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (stored for a defined period). We use them to keep you logged in and ensure the platform functions securely.
2. Essential cookies
Essential cookies are required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled because removing them would break core features including login, session management, and security.
Authentication: JWT access tokens are stored as HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict cookies. These expire with your session or after a configured idle timeout.
CSRF protection: a CSRF token cookie is set to prevent cross-site request forgery on form submissions.
Session state: a short-lived session identifier used to keep you logged in across page navigations without requiring re-authentication.
3. Analytics cookies
We may use anonymised analytics to understand how users navigate the platform and to identify areas for improvement. Analytics data is aggregated — it cannot be used to identify you individually.
If analytics cookies are used, you can opt out at any time by adjusting your preferences in your account settings or by using your browser's cookie controls. We will update this section to name any analytics provider before we enable it.
At the time of this policy, no third-party analytics cookies are active on the DirectHire platform.
4. Marketing cookies
We do not use marketing cookies. DirectHire does not run retargeting campaigns, interest-based advertising, or any form of behavioural tracking through cookies.
We do not allow third-party advertising networks to set cookies through our platform.
5. Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers:
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
Note: disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.
